- Slow, Noisy - Don't waste your $This pump takes forever express any milk!
I was completely engorged & it still took over 45 min to pump 1 oz.!
Try the Medela Harmony manual pump instead. It works 100 X better than this piece of junk!

- Excellent!! But read the enclosed literaturethis pump is an excellent product at an excellent price. I have used it before and am currently. However, I will advise in response to an earlier review. IF IT HURTS YOU ARE DOING IT WRONG!! The company provides excellent literature and "how-to" information. There is also info on the web. things like applying a wam cloth to the breast and relaxing before you begin. Bottom line - Great product, easy to use and an affordable price!!

- TOTAL WASTE OF MONEY~AWFUL PUMP!I purchased this pump to use for an occasional relief of engorgement since my daughter is strictly breastfed. (I had been using the Medela Pump in Style that I had borrowed from my friend but had to return b/c she had her baby) Well, I got an occasional use all right....1 TIME!!!! I used it once w/out any problems. The 2nd time, the milk backed up into the unit. I cleaned it all out and now it sounds like it's sucking but it isn't. Very frustrated!!
I thought I'd buy this one b/c the price was right for the amount of times I'd use it. If you ask me, I don't think 1 time is worth the money I spent. I would NOT recommend this breast pump to anyone.

- The worst on the market!!!After the first time I used the pump the adapter stopped working. I called First Years and they asked me to send it back on my dime. I asked them what to do mean while. They suggested using batteries. I tried that for a couple pumps but the batteries had to be changed after every pump. This was the biggest waste of money. Purchasing this has taught me one great lesson. Do you reseach before purchasing something of this great importance. I have since thrown the peace of trash in the trash. I never sent the adapter back to First Years. To do so would cost me another $10 after using my Fedex employee discount.

- great for occasional useI had manual Avent Isis pump and I hated it. It took forever (20 min) to get some milk, it hurt, and eventually it broke. It never sealed properly.
I got this pump with my first baby and used it maybe 10 times without any problems. When I tried to use it again 2 years later it did not work - it was getting stuck on "suck" mode (did not release).
I got a new one and it is awesome. It takes about 5 - 10 min to get 4oz of milk (depending on mother's supply as well). The adjustable strenght of suction was great at the beginning when the nipples are really sensitive and sore. Now I just use it at the highest setting to get the milk quickly but it does not hurt.
The pump can be used with batteries which is great when you are traveling. The size is also plus because you can put it in your diaper bag and it does not take any space. It is compatible with most bottles (except Avent and that "tri-flow" bottles". It is compatible with Playtex bottles even though Playtex claimes it is not. For the Playtex bottles you want to get the Starter pack with adjustment ring for breast pumps (it has smaller diameter which fits the First Years pump).
So overall - it is the best option if you want it for occasional use and the speed of electric breast pump. If you are planning on using it every day, you should get some pump designed for it, such as Medela.
By the way - my first First Years pump did not work properly when I bought it and First Years replaced the whole thing ( not just the malfunctioning part) within 2 weeks. So - GREAT customer service
I am giving it only 4 stars because when I found out that my old First Years pump did not work, I called the company and asked how to get it repaired. There is NO WAY it can be repaired, not by First Years or anybody else. So if your pump breaks after the warranty expires you are out of luck.
