Magnetic Resonance and breast feeding

There are no known risks from MR scanning on a pregnant patients. If a nursing mother undergoes MR scanning that requires a dye injection, we know the MR dye will be excreted in breast milk. Malvern online advises nursing mothers to avoid breast-feeding their babies for 24 hours after they have had MR dye.
